A local agentic browser starts closer to the work already underway. If the answer depends on an internal dashboard, a supplier portal, three open research tabs, and the account session you already use, that local context can remove a lot of copying and re-authentication.

Login convenience is not a substitute for access control.

A local browser may have access to a logged-in account.

That does not mean every agent task should be allowed to act in that account. Define the source scope and reserve approval for external messages, record changes, payments, invitations, and deletions.

A cloud session also needs governance. Its separation does not remove the need to decide which credentials, files, and downstream systems the task may use.

Choose isolation when isolation solves the actual problem.

Use a cloud session when you need a fresh environment, public-web research, or a separate place to test a workflow. Use a local browser when the job starts from an account, saved view, open tab, or context that already exists in the browser you use.

The wrong choice creates handoffs. The agent finds the answer remotely, then someone has to repeat the work in the real account where the answer must become action.

Reliable browser work needs a repeatable boundary.

Once a task works, save the exact inputs, source limits, expected output, and escalation rule as a skill. A routine can then run the read-heavy part on a schedule and surface exceptions without giving every recurring job an open-ended mandate.

For example, a weekly competitor scan can prepare a sourced digest; it should not change pricing pages or contact people without a separate instruction.
